SEC Railway lift Borasambar Cup

South East Central Railway (Bilaspur) trounced Jobra Solar Club (Cuttack) by nine wickets in the final to emerge champions in the 18th All-India Borasambar Cup Cricket Tournament at RB High School ground in Padampur (Bargarh) today.

Electing to bat, Jobra Solar were bundled out for 117 in 34.4 overs. Om Prakash Yadav and Amit Mishra bagged four and three wickets respectively for the Bilaspur team, while Mohammad Hashim top scored for the Cuttack outfit with 28 runs. In reply, the railway side rode on unbeaten knocks of 48 and 47 by skipper Santosh Das and Rohit Dhruv respectively to overhaul the target in 24th over, losing one wicket in the process.

The champions received the top prize of Rs 31,001 and the runners-up Rs 18,001. Om Prakash Yadav and Rohit Dhruv were adjudged the man of the match and man of the tournament respectively. Dhruv also grabbed the prize as the best batsman, while the prize for the best bowler went to Amit Mishra.
Bhatli MLA Sushant Singh handed over the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function. Host Borasambar Sporting president Narayan Purohit and secretary Bharat Panda were present on the occasion.
